    Add colour to your kitchen

    by  • March 11, 2013 • Kitchen Surfaces • 0 Comments

We all need cheering up after the last few months of gloomy, cold weather and I think colour in the kitchen is the way to go.

Eco Happy is a new range of colourful wallpapers. Hopefully, the name alone has made you smile, if not the range of bold, colourful, floral and graphic patterns, in vibrant shades, will do the trick.

Now, I’m not suggesting you’d want it on every wall. But it would make an impressive feature wall. Here’s a close up of another of their vibrant designs:

    by  • November 18, 2011 • Uncategorized • 0 Comments

A little bit of Friday frippery for you – the latest mugs to pop into my inbox that will brighten up your kitchen. Fortunately, each of them has something special about them…

I wanted to start with these personalised Cornishware mugs. I was thrilled when TG Green started making Cornishware again a few years ago and these mugs will make you just as cheerful I’m sure.

A Couple of Mugs is a pair of red mugs that can be personalised with up to 12 letters each for £25 and are perfect for a Christmas present.

Next, a charity number from Villeroy & Boch with its limited edition mugs that support the British Heart Foundation‘s Mending Broken Hearts appeal. Featuring artwork from a host of contemporary British artists, they cost £24.95 each with £5 going to the BHF.

Finally, this Ladybird colours-inspired Fabulous mug from Emma Bridgewater instantly caught my eye – bright, retro and of course, it tells you where to have it on display – in your fabulous, modern kitchen!

    High Street Brights

    by  • June 1, 2010 • Uncategorized • 0 Comments

I remember once, my mother complaining that as soon as we’re out of summer and into winter, all the colours disappear from the shops and we’re left with drab, dark shades. That may have been so 10 years ago, but certainly doesn’t apply now.

Continuing to be a huge trend this autumn/winter, brights are here to stay it would seem and make a fun way of injecting small hits of colour into your kitchen. Uplifting colours, graphic prints and clean lines are hitting the high street in a big way and there’s something to suit everyone, from crockery to cutlery and spice storage.

Or, if you’re looking for something a little more budget-conscious, Matalan‘s Key Red range should hit the spot.
