Another great spot at 100% Design, these cool magnetic panels called Magic Wall are perfect for kitchen paraphernalia. Created by accident when Vienna-based designer Felix Muhrhofer realised the magnets he places under the surface of his terrazzo tables to identify his brand cause teaspoons to ‘magically’ stick to the top. To start with there were a number of design challenges, not least creating a balance of power between magnetism and gravity but now the panels are available in the original terrazzo stone as well as wood, laminate and lino.
I don’t usually show you brilliant things to buy unless they have a UK outlet. But with the world wide web thing getting so big these days I didn’t think anyone would mind ordering them over t’internet if they felt so inclined…
Great for in the kitchen, you can stick anything you like to them as long as it’s magnetic. I rather like the huge faux stone panel version but they come in a variety of sizes and can be used for all sorts of kit, from frying pans to flower pots.
