Tea, for me, has to be piping hot. I’m forever abandoning cups as they become too tepid for me to drink. There are a few double-wall constructed mugs on the market but I’ve yet to find one I like as much as my old faithful Le Creuset mug. So, when I saw Sebastian Conran’s latest design for John Lewis – a stylish stay-warm mug – I had to give it a go.

It’s made of metal, which I have to say at first felt a bit odd but I’ve stuck with it and now I really love it. While it doesn’t keep tea piping hot in the same way as a thermos does, it’s size and construction does mean that I’m getting to the bottom of the cup well before it’s too cold for me to drink.

The colours are gorgeous too. The blue one looks great at home and I’m currently sipping my morning brew out of the one with a cerise pink handle!
